My
father was born on July 11, 1907 - that's 7/11/7! Everyone called
him lucky Charlie and he truly believed magical things happened to him.
He had a childlike enthusiasm and optimism with everything he did and
would often reach out and shake someone's hand saying, "Hi, I'm
lucky Charlie". He loved to play tricks, games, make bets, and
enter contests. He would set his intention and never doubt that he would
win.
Over the years he won teddy bears, a sewing machine, a TV, and LOTS of money. He also found money on numerous occasions. (I tried putting dad's name on raffle tickets so that "his luck" might rub off on me -- didn't work). Even when he didn't win, he found something to be grateful for and maintained an optimistic attitude. "Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turnout." When Charlie retired, he and my mom would go to Las Vegas every few months and bring back enough money to buy extras - like a TV and gifts for the 6 children and many grandchildren. He played keno and craps. As he would leave the gaming table, the dealer would shake his head and say, "He doesn't even know how to play but he always walks away with a bundle of money". Did my dad win because he was lucky or because he was born on a lucky day? Or was he a winner because he believed he was? Henry Ford said, "Whether you think you're a winner or you think you're a loser, you're right." We always get more of whatever energy we put out into the Universe. I don't know whether my father realized that every time he heard and said that he was "lucky", he was reinforcing this energy. He was repeatedly using a very powerful affirmation that manifested in his outer world. Are you ready to take responsibility and create "wins" with your powerful mind? Affirmations can help.
